Best day for seeing Sand Lizards on Merseyside for a while today. Dave Hardaker and myself saw at least seven in a few hours, including four males. Weather was sunny, but a keen North-West wind kept the temperature from being too hot.

Don't think there have been any more fires, but still desperately need rain.

Found the first hatchling wild Merseyside Sand Lizard of this year today. Hope this is a sign of things to come, although the drought, which only ended last week, may have caused some of the eggs to dessicate.
